Located at the base of Mt Katahdin, we are often a starting point for people who like to hike the Appalachian Trail. Get a good nights sleep, get up early, and start the hike of a lifetime. You don't have to hike the length of the trail, just a few miles and you will experience the vast beauty that attracts many seasoned hikers each and every year. Along with the Appalachian Trail are many logging roads, long ago abandoned by the woodsmen who blazed these wilderness trails, just waiting for an adventurous family to spend a day exploring some of the beauty that will forever be contained within these woods.

Baxter State Park is loaded with exciting trails of various lengths and difficulties. Mount Katahdin is the highest peak in Maine and is the mile high beginning of the Appalachian Trail. This is an extremely challenging climb, but well worth the experience.
