TAKE ROUTE 11
FROM SCENIC LINCOLN, MAINE
TO HISTORIC FORT KENT, MAINE

If Beautiful driving is one of your enjoyments, we suggest that you try this trip. You would get off Interstate 95 at exit 55 and turn North on Route 2 toward Mattawamkeag, Maine. Staying on Route 2, when you get to Sherman Mills, Maine (which is also Exit 57 of Interstate 95) you would then turn onto a very scenic Route 11 and head up through Patten, and get a great view of Mount Katahdin. This is the North Entrance to Baxter State Park. From Patten, proceed on Route 11 through Masardis, Ashland, Portage Lake and Eagle Lake, Fish River Lodge would be a great place to visit while there, to get to Fort Kent, Maine. In Fort Kent you will find that Rocks Motel and Diner is a great place to spend an evening, or a weekend. If you are looking for a fine restaurant to dine at, may we suggest that you try Sirois' Restaurant for some of the finest dining in Northern Maine. Tell them you found them on the Net.
