Tucked away in northern Maine, The Austin Cabins treat you to fresh, clean air, rustic surroundings, and lakefront living. These authentic log cabins date back to the late 1800's, retaining the historical charm of the day with artifacts and antiques throughout each room. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of life during simpler times, where the hectic aspects of daily living are left behind, and the clock no longer dictates each day.

Both cabins are lakefront, each having its own dock for boaters. Enjoy a picnic overlooking the lake on outside tables, watch the sun set across the water, and finish the day watching the stars come out while relaxing around a pit fire. Fall asleep to the sounds of the woods and the soft call of the loon.

Each cabin is fully furnished, and all bed and bath linens are provided. The kitchens are fully equipped with stoves, microwaves and refrigerators. You can even brew your morning cup of coffee.

Driving Directions:

Travel north on I-95 from Bangor. If you are coming from further south than Bangor, take the Maine Turnpike to I-95. Get off the highway at the Houlton exit, traveling north on Route 1. Continue north through Presque Isle and into Caribou. Connect onto Route 161 North. Staying on 161, about 30 minutes out of Caribou, just after a small bridge over a thoroughfare, you will see St. Peter's store on your right. Approximately 300 feet after the store take a left onto Austin Road. Drive in 4/10 mile, taking no turns. Both cabins are dark brown with green roofs. Cabin 1 is on your left, Cabin 2 is on your right. The door is unlocked for you, and if it's chilly, there is a fire going in the woodstove.
