Attention to detail makes Auberge Du Lac a special place that guests return to time and again. In keeping with their interest in the history of the area, Gerald and Grace display antique U. S. post offices boxes, from the small northern Maine post office, where as a child Grace collected her family's mail. A bureau holds woolen socks and mittens hand-knit by Gerald's mother and available for guests to use when they go for winter walks. Framed recipes from a popular newspaper column, written by Grace's mother are used as part of the decor.
